FAQ Growth Chart - Height Chart

What pen should I use to mark or write on a growth chart?

A fine-tip marker pen is good. Inky pens and markers can bleed into the finish of the height/growth chart which over time will lead to them being hard to read. A ballpoint pen or pencil will also work well, although they can be harder to see.

How do I prevent the growth chart from sunfading?

Your growth chart should not be displayed in direct sunlight, over time this will cause the wood to yellow and age. To help slow this you can paint the height chart in a protective coating called polyurethane, avaliable at all hardware stores. The vinyl height charts come already with this application applied to help protect the vinyl. We do not apply this coating to engraved height charts as it can make the height charts harder to write on.
